THE SERPENT

Description

More than merely a mundane natural phenomenon or an object of scientific zoology for onlookers to gawk and gape, the Serpent has long been perceived as the bearer of some symbolic value.

Indeed, Le Serpente is one of the oldest and most widespread mythological symbols known to man. In some instances, serpents serve as positive symbols; in other instances, these scaly beauties serve as negative symbols, representing opponents or antagonists of figures or principles with which it is possible to identify. Serpents also appear as ambivalent figures, neither wholly positive nor wholly negative in valence.

In creating The Serpent, I was intent on establishing a visual representation of the traits "Guardianship" and "Regeneration".

Guardianship - to hold one's ground and defend against negativity, to protect and shield what is near and dear.

Regeneration - rebirth, renewal, casting away shadows of doubt and of fear, all misgivings and moving forwards.

Potent stuff, I know :) but what the hey, this is my first ring and I wanted to do it right!

The Serpent slithers around your finger in a single length of Oxidised 999 Fine Silver, and bejewelled with gorgeous Red Spinel, Pink Burmese Rubies and heavenly dots of Apricot Topaz.

I've fashioned The Serpent as such that she's adjustable (very comfortably) all the way from a size 6 to a size 8.5, just gently press her into shape.

{ COLLECTION }

THE SERPENT is part of the BORDELLO QUEEN Collection.

Think Lolita meets dramatic Goth. A collection heavily infuenced by French lace and sexy corsetry with throwbacks to 17th Century drama and grandeur. Designs that combine age old techniques with stylised, unexpected, saucy storybook elements.

Intense. Naughty. Provocative. Real.
